We've had this shelf for a few weeks now, and the low, open design really does make it easy for my son to pick his own toys without help. The wood finish has held up well against his daily use and the occasional crash from a toy being dropped.
My toddler can actually reach her toys on her own now, and I love how the low, open design makes everything visible. The wood feels sturdy enough to hold her heavier books without tipping.
My toddler can now easily see and reach all her toys, which cuts down on the dumping frenzy. The low, open design really does encourage her to pick one activity and focus.
