Trapezoid Tables

Arranged mine in a half-circle for a small reading group, and the trapezoid shape made it so easy to angle everyone toward the center. The table feels sturdy enough for daily classroom use, and the kids actually gravitate to it for collaborative work.

We've been circling our trapezoid tables into groups of five for science stations, and the way they nest together actually makes the classroom feel bigger. The kids figured out the unusual angle on their own, which says a lot about how intuitive the design is.

The trapezoid shape lets me reconfigure the classroom into clusters for group work, then back to a straight row for tests in under five minutes. My students actually seem more engaged during collaborative projects now that they can face each other properly.
