I hung it horizontally above my counter and the way it shows off the fruit actually got my kids grabbing apples instead of chips. The shelves feel sturdy enough to hold a full row of mason jars without bowing, and switching to vertical later is a nice option to have.
Swapped mine to vertical last night and the jars finally have their own designated spots instead of crowding the counter. The flexibility to switch orientations is what sold me, and it handles both my spice collection and a few heavy cans without any flex.
I've had mine horizontal for a week and the way it corrals my spices and fruit bowls has seriously cut down on counter clutter. The fact that it can flip to vertical for canning jars makes it feel like two organizers in one.
